Zoetermeer (population: 115,913 in February 2005) is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 37.06 kmē (of which 2.15 kmē is water). "Zoetermeer" is often translated into English as "Sweet Lake City". When the building of the town is completed in a few years, Zoetermeer will be the third-biggest city in the province of South Holland, after Rotterdam and The Hague.
